PHOENIX – Today, the Alliance Defense Fund has launched its "DOMA Watch" Web site, which is designed to provide up to date news and information about laws and litigation involving Defense of Marriage Acts (DOMAs).
DOMAWatch.org will assist legislators and attorneys by providing information on various state laws and same-sex "marriage" litigation, by state and by federal circuit.
The federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) defines marriage as a legal union between one man and one woman for purposes of all federal laws, and provides that states need not recognize a marriage from another state if it is between persons of the same sex. Thirty-nine states have their own Defense of Marriage Acts (DOMAs).
"There is a strategic effort by radical activists to target Defense of Marriage Acts and this Web site will provide resources needed to defend against this growing assault," said ADF’s Glen Lavy, Senior Vice President of the Marriage Litigation Center.
ADF is America’s largest legal alliance defending religious liberty through strategy, training, funding, and litigation.
